Bernd Alois Zimmermann is regarded as one of the most individual composers of the twentieth century. Against the background of the possibility of digital editions of music, this event presents the methods taken to prepare the historical critical edition of his work, writings and letters. This edition has been prepared in cooperation with the Archive of the Akademie der Künste and is funded by the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur, Mainz. The presentation is supplemented by a programme of music.
