Alfred Döblin Scholarships in Wewelsfleth in 2022
Nine Berlin authors will be living and working at the Alfred Döblin House in Wewelsfleth (Schleswig-Holstein) for three months this year at the invitation of the Akademie der Künste and the cultural department of the Berlin Senate.
Alfred Döblin Scholarships are being awarded to:
María Cecilia Barbetta, Nina Bussmann, Sophie-Charlotte Claassen, Martin Heckmanns, Svealena Kutschke, Marc Lunghuss, Michael Roes, Susanne Schädlich and Nellja Veremej
Three furnished flats are available to the scholarship holders in the house donated by Günter Grass to the Land of Berlin; they receive EUR 2,000 per month in addition.
The jury, which deliberated over 85 applications, comprised Jörg Fessmann (Secretary of the Literature Section, Akademie der Künste), Maren Jäger (literary scholar, on behalf of the Senate Department for Culture and Europe) and Regula Venske (PEN Centre of the Federal Republic of Germany).
