DEMO:POLIS Discussion – Architecture
These discussions offer an introduction to the DEMO:POLIS exhibition (12.3 – 29.5.2016), which explores and critiques the significance of public space in our civil society. After the sobering experience with the internet as a virtual public space, people are now returning to the real world of the streets to voice their concerns. Urban and rural public space has become a political flash point, and its organisation, design and use a question of negotiations for the future.
The first evening is dedicated to three different locations, benchmarks and realities: Anklam – Gelsenkirchen – Berlin.
Talk with Michael Galander, Lutz Braun, Anklam; Stefan Rommelfanger, Birgit Wend, Gelsenkirchen, Maria Berning, Annelie Schoen, Berlin. Discussion with Cordelia Polinna, Martin Rein-Cano, Peter Zlonicky, Presented and chaired by Barbara Hoidn.
