100 Years of Bauhaus Audio.Space.Machine.

Music

The Bauhaus provided impulses that were to have a decisive influence on music and sound all around the world: Immersion, equal standing for the artistic disciplines, a deep understanding of the material and a focus on a modern, mechanistic view of the world in which human positionality needs to be reassessed.

These stimuli are redefined for the present in AUDIO.SPACE.MACHINE and relayed acoustically, in content and at the technical level of the sound design in the form of a concept album. In twelve immersive concept tracks the listening space is radically staged sound-aesthetically with the aid of a 360° matrix. Voices, electro-acoustic music and sounds are used simultaneously and homogeneously. The album focuses on the human as a modern adaptive apparatus. AUDIO.SPACE.MACHINE includes quotes by László Moholy-Nagy, Walter Gropius and other Bauhaus artists of the twenties, but also some from John Cage and contemporary authors such as Martin Burckhardt or Bazon Brock.

The AUDIO.SPACE.MACHINE tracks are between two and five minutes long and can be selected and listened to individually, or experienced in their entirety as one unit. The binaural staging and the noise reduction transmission make the person listening part of a unique, mechanistic-digital sound universe.
