Film Screening and Discussion
In 1963, the Gregors began showing their film series at the Akademie der Künste. In 1970 they founded the Arsenal cinema and in 1971 the Berlinale Forum. Erika and Ulrich Gregor have dedicated their entire lives to the motto: “A life without cinema is possible, but pointless”. Alice Agneskirchner’s film is more than a homage: along the biographies and numerous excerpts, she projects a film history beyond the canon that is inseparably linked to the history of Berlin.
