Free Berlin
The newspaper Free Berlin focuses on the politics of urban spaces. With a view on Pariser Platz, the artists Brandon LaBelle, Anaïs Florin, Adam Kraft, together with architect, city planner and activist Gabu Heindl and others investigate how movements of re-democratisation and community building can be used as measures to counter structures of violence and power in the city. In an open, freely accessible format, artists and activists join with the audience to read and discuss together, while the architecture of the foyer as a transitory space – situated between the Akademie and one of Germany’s most political public squares – is activated performatively and acoustically.
