Ida Hoffmann has been a political activist since the 1970s. She was a member of the 4th and 6th National Assembly of the Namibian Parliament championing children's and women's rights. Since 1992 and more recently as the Chairperson of the Nama Genocide Technical Committee (NTLA), she is a campaigner for a comprehensive restorative justice intervention for the descendants of victims of the Namibian genocide.
